Charles Kennedy began his career as a Senior Trial Attorney with the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. where he litigated federal tax matters. Since returning to his home state of Michigan in 1994, Charles Kennedy has concentrated his practice on the representation of businesses and the individuals who own and run businesses, with a focus on tax planning and corporate structure issues. Charles Kennedy has also expanded on his early experience with Government service as City Attorney for Grosse Pointe and Lake Angelus. Charles Kennedy is frequently retained by other communities to advise and litigate state property tax matters. Charles Kennedy also represents certain Taft-Hartley fringe benefit funds with respect to litigation concerning fringe benefit obligations.
